The Awards Banquet Reception, Awards Banquet and Farewell Reception provide an exciting finale for the week’s activities.

Awards for Corporation of the Year, Corporate Innovation, Corporate Excellence in Access to Capital, as well as Supplier, Minority Supplier Development Leader and Regional Council of the Year will be presented.

COUNCIL OF THE YEAR:

Recognizes an exemplary Affiliate Council demonstrating the programs, activities and accomplishments which

establishes it as a model of organization, operation and success.  The Affiliate Council is reviewed for image,

accomplishments, activities and leadership over the previous calendar year.

SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR:

Recognizes Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American business enterprises for their business growth and

development, operational success, support of other minority businesses and active participation in the community.

The honorees are divided into four categories, based on annual sales:  Class I is for firms with less than $1 million in sales; Class II is for firms with $1 million to $10 million in sales; Class III is for firms with $10 million to $50 million in sales; and Class IV is for firms with more than $50 million in sales. MINORITY SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT LEADER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Presented to a supplier diversity professional at an NMSDC national corporate member company who has gone the extra mile to make a significant impact in the field of minority supplier development. This individual recognizes the

importance of developing and nurturing partnerships with diverse suppliers and the potential for those relationships to drive change and foster inclusion. As a leader within their organization, this individual provides minority supplier

development training to other managers, buyers and key procurement executives within their organization, and

demonstrates measurable progress/increase in their company’s spend with NMSDC-certified minority suppliers.

CORPORATE EXCELLENCE IN ACCESS TO CAPITAL AWARD:

Recognizes an initiative or program of an NMSDC national corporate member that provides capital and/or unique financial arrangements to minority suppliers to facilitate their business growth and their ability to create jobs in the community.

CORPORATE INNOVATION AWARD:

Recognizes a new method, initiative, or process established by an NMSDC corporate member to accelerate and positively impact minority supplier development in support of NMSDC’s vision, mission and core capabilities

Certify, Develop, Connect and Advocate. Special  emphasis is placed on professional services and non-traditional categories.

CORPORATION OF THE YEAR:

Recognizes exemplary achievement in the area of minority supplier development.  This award is regarded as the most significant honor to a major corporation for the utilization of Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American companies. 

The company demonstrates exceptional strength in all areas critical to maintaining a solid minority supplier development process–policies; procurement, particularly growth in dollars and percent; MBE development; and leadership  and engagement.

The attire for this event is black tie.

Immediately following the Awards Banquet, we’ll bid farewell to San Diego and get ready for Chicago, Illinois, the host city for the 2016 NMSDC Conference and Business Opportunity Exchange.

The Awards Banquet Reception, Awards Banquet and Farewell Reception will be held at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
