Dean Brody is a strategy and management consultant.

As a Managing Director at the global consulting firm, Accenture, Brody is responsible for helping companies define & execute corporate strategies with an emphasis on operational efficiency, revenue optimization, and new market entry.

Brody has 20 years of experience in large program and project execution, business planning, business case definition, and process design & optimization.

Brody also provides mentorship to numerous individuals that cut across the Detroit start-up and creative community. Brody has mentored the likes of Jim Xiao (Founder of Mason America), Jeremy Deputat (nationally renowned lifestyle photographer for Eminem & Kid Rock), Rick Williams (Founder of The Distinct Life), and Erik Torenberg (Founder of Village Global Fund) among others. A “life coach” of sorts, Brody works with individuals to help them define their career & life goals and then implement a plan for achieving them.

As a Crain’s Detroit 40 Under 40 Award Winner and Leadership Detroit graduate, Brody has a passion for community-focused economic development with a personal goal of creating at least 1,000 new jobs for City of Detroit residents by 2020, hoping his efforts will inspire other corporate business leaders and entrepreneurs to help address Detroit’s joblessness epidemic.

Brody is leading Accenture’s Impact Hire Program in Detroit, Accenture’s corporate citizenship program aimed to create jobs in economically disadvantaged communities. The primary focus of these efforts are within the technology sector, utilizing the philosophy that programming is the “skilled trade” of the 21st century.

Brody is also committed to improving educational opportunities for Detroit’s youth, helping author key elements of a Detroit Public Schools improvement plan in 2016, and more recently accepting an invitation to serve on the board of the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, a Detroit-based high school.

Finally, Brody is a founding board member of a new cancer research focused non-profit based in Michigan called U CAN-CER VIVE.

Brody is Michigan born and bred, originally hailing from the Flint area and later graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
