Arnold Sowa is senior vice president and chief procurement officer for MetLife. He oversees MetLife’s global procurable spend, including the selection and contracting of suppliers, supplier oversight & governance, global travel, and supply chain social responsibility programs. He is on the board of directors as treasurer for the National Minority Supplier Development Council.

His prior procurement experiences have been at Bridgewater Associates, LP, the largest hedge fund in the world where he built a new procurement organization; as an advisor to Ally Financial on creating their third-party risk management program; and as CPO at Capital One. While at Capital One he designed and rolled out an industry-leading third-party risk management program. He ran Capital One’s supply chain social responsibility programs, including the creation of its award-winning supplier diversity program.

Arnold Sowa received the prestigious ISM McDonald award for his unwavering advocacy for supplier diversity.

Arnold received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University, a Master of Arts in Applied Economics and an MBA from Stanford University.
