Robert G. Schwiers Jr. is the Chief Economist for Chevron’s Corporate Strategic Planning Department and currently manages the corporate economics and energy research team.

He advises senior executives on economic and energy market dynamics to aid in developing business plans and growth strategies for the company. He has written several analytical papers dealing with oil and energy market issues for senior executives and Chevron’s Board of Directors.

He has given numerous presentations on energy markets to internal organizations and prominent external groups, such as National Defense University, the International Energy Agency, the Eisenhower Fellows, Western States Petroleum Association, and the Texas Oil & Gas Association.

Mr. Schwiers was selected to be Chevron’s representative at the prestigious Oxford Energy Seminar in July 2008 held at St. Catherine’s College in Oxford, UK.

Mr. Schwiers is currently a member of the American Petroleum Institute’s Economics and Statistics Committee and the International Energy Agency’s Industry Advisory Board.

He has also contributed to several external industry publications including Energy & Security: Strategies for a World in Transition and the International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook.
