James B. Flynn is Executive Director/Supplier Diversity Manager at JPMorgan Chase & Company.

Global Supplier Diversity is part of Global Supplier Services under the Chief Administrative Office that leads the firm’s world class category management, sourcing, third party oversight, supply relationship management and marketplace diversity activities.

Prior to his current role, Flynn has led, supported or managed multiple strategic sourcing activities for many spend categories at JPMorgan. Examples include Bank Operations, Mortgage Lending, Call Center Services, Software licensing, Technology and Commercial Print.

Presently, Flynn is focused on the firm’s supplier diversity initiatives and transformation to build internal capacity/program growth leveraging his knowledge of the firm’s complex supply chain and deep experience with many spend categories at the bank. Other key objectives are growing spend by engaging, mentoring and developing diverse supplier opportunities.

Flynn began his career at General Electric Company in Finance in Schenectady, New York and graduated from their Management Training Program. An experienced professional and procurement leader before joining the firm his career spanned Corporate Sourcing, Category Management and Logistics as well as Supply Chain at Limited Brands and Deutsche Post DHL.

In these organizations, he led and managed strategic expense categories ranging from Real Estate, Paper, Direct materials and MRO to Facility management, Energy, Capital Equipment, Technology and Business Services. Flynn graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York, Phi Beta Kappa and holds an MBA from SUNY at Albany, New York.

Flynn was certified by the National Institute of Supply Management as a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) and was a keynote speaker for The Conference Board’s Purchasing Conference.

Originally from New York’s scenic Hudson River Valley, Flynn now lives in Columbus with his partner of 20+ years and enjoys Ohio State football, all things Mexico, the outdoors and travel.
